Our development
A progressive build, rooted in integration and excellence
Since our beginning, Floribis has pioneered an integrated industrial model—blending agricultural mastery, transformation, quality control, and supply chain structuring.
Foundation and initial downstream integration
Floribis was established in 2000 with a vanilla processing unit in Vohémar, paired with a quality control laboratory.
From 2003, the company expanded agricultural operations through:
- A germplasm bank of over 100 vanilla varieties.
- A private 30-hectare vanilla plantation.
In 2008, the supply chain earned organic certification (for associative and private vanilla), a key milestone in quality structuring.
By 2010, Floribis advanced vertical integration with a finished products range (vanilla and fragrances) and its first retail outlet at Ivato.
This marked the model’s first expansion—from raw materials to
value-added products.

Botanical diversification, industrial structuring, and R&D scale-up
Agricultural supply chain development
In 2011, Floribis diversified with the vetiver supply chain:
- 60 hectares of private plantations.
- Initial essential oil production.
In 2014, the ylang-ylang supply chain began through farmer associations, planting 20 ha.
In 2015, 200 hectares of acacia were planted to secure distillery firewood, enhancing energy independence and eco-coherence.
Ethical standards and certifications
Standards strengthened steadily:
- 2014: SMETA 4 Pillars certification for the Vohémar facility.
- 2015: Global Impact certification for the Vohémar facility.
- 2015: Rainforest Alliance certification for a vanilla association.
- 2016: Fairtrade certification for vanilla.
Industrial capacity enhancement
In 2016, initial Quick Process vanilla units enabled better alignment with global customer needs.
In 2017, a new standards-compliant distillery in Vohémar boosted production scale and process standardization.
Botanical innovation and extraction expertise
From 2015, Floribis produced Gnidia daphnifolia flower concrete for perfumery, unlocking high-value botanicals.
In 2017, R&D advanced with:
- New vanilla varieties with high-potential features (high vanillin, aroma, greenhouse resilience).
- Experimental crops (jasmin grandiflorum, roses, wild pepper, tuberose).
- Pilot extraction lab for extracts, concretes, absolues.
That year, 70 ha of primary Fanambana forest (Vohémar district) entered conservation.
Global structuring and supply chain consolidation
In 2018, Floribis marks a new chapter with :
- HACCP certification
- For Life certification
- Cosmetics production start in Antananarivo, and a physico-chemical/GC analysis laboratory setup.
The same year, Floribis strengthened Ylang-Ylang supply chain integration with 60 ha private plantation in Beamosy (Sambava district). This secured supply and agronomic control.
In 2020, Floribis obtains ISO 22716 certification for cosmetics laboratory. Floribis develops new industrial initiatives: organic coconut oil cold extraction press, vetiver waste briquetry.
In 2022 Floribis created Floribis France. This creation marks an important step in global positioning. Floribis also established a pink peppercorn supply chain in Farafangana.
In 2023, Floribis obtained RA-UEBT certification for vanilla, vetiver, ylang-ylang supply chains. Floribis sets up over 100 ha associative vetiver supply chain in Vohémar. .

Analytical innovation and premium positioning
In 2024, Floribis offers a range of products sourced from community diversification projects (beekeeping). Floribis continues environmental commitments through AFD conservation project.
In 2025, Floribis acquires HPLC chromatography in Vohémar.
This acquisition supports vanilla extracts range launch and strengthens analytical capacities and scientific precision.
